Marisa Toccin is carrying on her family's tradition of community service here in South Florida as an active member of the Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship Program. She sits on the organization’s board of directors and is proud to serve as the WOT gala chairperson for the seventh straight year.
In addition to Marisa’s work with Women of Tomorrow, she is actively involved in the community. She is a Founder at the University of Miami, a Spectrum Award recipient for the American Red Cross, and one of the American Cancer Society's "Ten Best Dressed." Marisa also received the "Miracle Maker" award from Big Brothers Big Sisters, is a Young President at Mount Sinai, served as an honorary chairman for the Diabetes Research Institute's Love and Hope ball, and is also a member of both the Banyan and Tiffany Societies for Project Newborn. She is also actively involved with her alma matter, the University of Pennsylvania. Marisa is the school’s Gift Chair and received the Volunteer of the Year award for her fundraising work in South Florida.
Marisa is an Emmy Award-winning television news producer. From breaking national stories to investigating consumer alerts and health breakthroughs, Marisa focuses on topics that make a difference and affect our everyday lives. She currently works for NewsProNet, a national television news company that syndicates stories to more than 80 markets including Miami (WFOR), New York (WCBS), Los Angeles (KABC), and San Francisco (KPIX). Her reports are seen by more than 10 million viewers. Previously, she was an associate producer at NBC 6 for the morning program, "Today in South Florida." Prior to that, she worked in New York at WABC, Inside Edition, as well as at WPVI in Philadelphia.
Marisa graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with honors in 1999. She has also studied in Italy, France, Spain, and England.
