The Next Generation of Successful Women
Herald staff
Forty girls from Miami Northwestern High School and Booker T. Washington High School who are part of The Women of Tomorrow Mentoring and Scholarship Program recently visited the Miami-Dade County Commission at the Steven P. Clark Government Center in downtown Miami to see firsthand what it takes to be successful professionally. The group was introduced to the Miami-Dade County Commission at its May 19 meeting, and Women of Tomorrow founder Jennifer Valoppi received a proclamation from Commissioner Barbara Carey-Schuler for the program's dedication to helping underprivileged youth in South Florida improve their chances of professional success through mentoring and education. The presentation was followed by breakfast, a tour and panel discussions. For more information on Women of Tomorrow, call 305-538-6900 or visit www.womenoftomorrow.org.
